This short (two- or three-part) arc obviously owes a debt to the new supernaturally-twinged romantic comedy starring Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, which in turn owes a debt to Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
