#630: Imitation of Life

October 3, 2011

Notes from the Manager

Related Strips: #619: Jackpot

Thanks to everyone who came out to Webcomics Con to see me — especially Kevin Bernstene, who is now the second reader to have given me a flask filled with brandy at a convention. What distinguishes Kevin's gift from Harrison Pious's is that the new one has the Multiplex logo engraved on it.

I have no objection to this becoming a running joke with me at cons, by the way. Give me all the flasks of brandy that you want to.

The title, "Imitation of Life," is a reference to the 1959 Douglas Sirk film with Lana Turner.

This strip takes place not long after #629; that's why the calendar still says September. Not that it's important to know that.

Multiplex 10 is here!

Although Multiplex 10 has ended, an animated prequel/reboot called Multiplex 10 was funded through Kickstarter in 2017 and is NOW AVAILABLE for rent or purchase on Vimeo On Demand, Amazon Video, and elsewhere! And an all-new, irregularly-updated Multiplex 10 web series (set after the short film) recently launched on YouTube! Learn more about the web series on the official Multiplex 10 website!

Stay up to date on all things Multiplex, Multiplex 10 and me (a.k.a. Gordon McAlpin) by subscribing to my newsletter!
